NEET UG Counselling 2026: Registration

Registration is your entry point into counselling — a separate step from taking NEET UG itself. You register independently with MCC (for AIQ) and with your home state's counselling authority (for state quota), using your NEET UG roll number and result.

Registration typically opens shortly after results and any qualifying cutoff notification. Missing the registration window for a round means you're not eligible for seat allotment in that round, so treat the window as a hard deadline.

What registration involves

You create a counselling account on the relevant portal (MCC's counselling website, or your state's dedicated portal), verify your identity against your NEET UG application details, and pay the registration fee for that round or cycle.

Some states require a one-time registration that carries across rounds within the cycle; others require re-registration or reconfirmation for later rounds. This varies enough between states that you should always check your specific state's counselling bulletin rather than assuming another state's rule applies to you.

Before you register

Confirm your category and quota eligibility (see the eligibility page) and have your document set ready (see the documents page) — registration portals often ask you to upload scanned documents at this stage, not later.

  • NEET UG admit card and scorecard
  • A valid, active email address and phone number you'll use throughout counselling
  • Category, PwD, and domicile certificates if applicable
  • A payment method for the registration fee

Frequently Asked Questions

Is MCC registration separate from state counselling registration?+

Yes. They are run by different authorities with separate portals, separate fees, and separate registration windows. Registering with one does not register you with the other.

What if I make an error during registration?+

Most portals allow limited correction windows before choice filling opens. Read the specific counselling authority's correction policy — some fields (like category) are harder to change after verification than others.
